River Wye Trips
The River Wye has its source high in the beautiful mountains of mid-Wales, here from the same point, the River Severn flows to the North and the Wye to the South weaving its way in and out of Wales and England down the historic border. Descending the river by canoe is the best way to experience the natural beauty and amazing history of this ancient region, visit castles in Hay-on-Wye (the town of books), Goodrich and Chepstow. Visit Hay-on-Wye, Hereford city and Cathedral, Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth, Tintern abbey & old riverside Inns all along the way. You may go from a couple of hours to a week, there are 100 miles possible. We provide canoes, kayaks, guides, transport, planning and logistical expertise to make your trip simple and enjoyable.
'Canoe the Wye' - The Half day trip
The half day trip is 7 miles long, starting at Huntsham Bridge, you descend through the lower Wye 'gorge' as far as Monmouth, The Forest of Dean descends between cliffs to meet the river, there are a few small rapids to keep things moving. A quick refreshment may also be on at a riverside Pub.
'Wye Adventure' - The Full day trip
The full day wye trip starts 7 miles further up than the half day, sharing the last 7 miles providing a total of up to a relaxing 14 mile adventure on the beautiful river wye. The first part of the day starts at Kerne Bridge near Goodrich Castle and descends past Lower Lydbrook, Coldwell Rocks & Symonds Yat Rock view point.
'Tour The River Wye' - The two day trip
The two day trip starts 20-30 miles even further up the river at Ross-on-Wye or Hoarwithy for the more adventurous.
